Terms of Service

These terms are the agreement between you and Noshbook. They cover the mobile app and this website. By creating an account, or by using Noshbook without one, you accept them. If you do not, please do not use Noshbook.

Noshbook is run by Chris Christou, of Galateias 1, 4521 Limassol, Cyprus. You can reach us at info@noshbook.app. How we handle your data is set out separately in our Privacy Policy.

Who can use Noshbook

You need to be at least 18. Noshbook features wine and other alcoholic drinks alongside food, so it is an adult service. If you are using Noshbook on behalf of an organisation, you confirm you are allowed to accept these terms for it.

You can try importing a recipe from a link, or generating one, without an account. Most of Noshbook — saving to your board, publishing, messaging, pods — needs one.

Your account

Keep your sign-in details to yourself, and tell us if you think someone else has got into your account. What happens under your account is your responsibility. Give us a real email address, because it is how we reach you about the account and how you recover it.

You can delete your account at any time from Settings, or by emailing us. See the Privacy Policy for exactly what deletion removes.

Your content stays yours

You keep ownership of everything you put into Noshbook — your recipes, your recommendations, your photos, your notes and your messages. We do not claim it.

To actually run the service we need your permission to handle it. So you give us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to store, copy, adapt and display your content, strictly for the purpose of operating and improving Noshbook. “Adapt” here means the practical things: making a thumbnail, resizing a photo, showing an extract on a card.

If you publish something, that licence extends to showing it to other people and letting them save it to their own boards — that is what publishing is for. Unpublish or delete it and we stop showing it, though we cannot pull back copies other people already made. Anything you keep private stays private.

You confirm that what you upload is yours to upload, and that it does not break anyone else’s rights.

Other people’s recipes

Noshbook can import a recipe from a link, and it can pull an image and details from a shop page for a recommendation. That is there so you can keep track of things you found — it is not a way to republish someone else’s work.

A list of ingredients and steps is generally not something anyone can own. The way a recipe is written up, its photographs, and its headnotes usually are. So: keep imported material on your private board freely, but before you publish an imported recipe, write it in your own words and use your own photo. If a rights holder tells us something infringes, we will take it down; tell us at info@noshbook.app if that is you, and include enough detail for us to find it.

What you may not do

Do not post, send or share anything that:

• harasses, bullies, threatens or targets another person;
• is hateful towards people because of who they are;
• is sexual content, or anything at all involving minors;
• is violent, graphic or designed to shock;
• promotes self-harm, dangerous acts, or illegal drugs;
• you do not have the right to share;
• impersonates someone else, or misrepresents who you are;
• is spam, a scam, or an advert dressed up as a recipe;
• is deliberately unsafe cooking advice, or a recipe intended to cause harm.

And do not:

• scrape, bulk-download or resell what is on Noshbook;
• try to break, overload or get around the security of the service;
• use automated means to create accounts or content;
• get around a block, a suspension, or a removal by making a new account.

Reporting and what we do about it

Every recipe, recommendation, comment, message and profile can be reported from inside the app, and you can block anyone. Blocking hides their content from you and stops either of you messaging the other.

We review reports and, where something breaks these terms, we may hide or remove it, restrict what an account can do, or close it. Content that is reported repeatedly may be hidden automatically while we look at it. Serious cases — anything involving a child, or a credible threat — go straight to the authorities.

If we act against your account and you think we have it wrong, email us and a person will look again.

AI features

Noshbook can generate recipes and ideas, and can read text from a label you photograph. These are conveniences, not expertise.

Generated results can be wrong, odd, or unsuitable for you, and two people asking the same thing may get different answers. Check anything before you cook it. Do not rely on a generated recipe for allergens, dietary restrictions, or food safety — it does not know about your allergies and it is not checking them.

Fair-use limits apply to how much you can generate in a day, so the feature stays available to everyone. Do not use these features to produce content that breaks the rules above.

Cooking is your responsibility

Recipes on Noshbook come from other users and from AI, not from us. We do not test them and we do not check them for accuracy, allergens or safety.

You are responsible for cooking safely: check ingredients against your own allergies and those of anyone you cook for, handle and store food properly, cook to safe temperatures, and use your judgement. Where a recipe involves alcohol, observe the law where you are. If you have a medical condition or a serious allergy, talk to a professional rather than relying on anything here.

Messages, pods and shared lists

What you send in a direct message, a pod, or a shared list is visible to the people in it. Anyone in a pod can add its content to their own lists and plans. Treat these as conversations with real people, because they are — the rules above apply in them just as they do in public.

The service will change

Noshbook is actively being built. Features will be added, changed and sometimes removed, and there will be occasional downtime. We provide it as it is, and we do not promise it will always be available or free of faults.

Noshbook is free today. If we introduce paid features later, we will tell you clearly what costs money before you are ever charged, and anything you already have will not silently move behind a payment.

Ending things

You can stop using Noshbook and delete your account whenever you like. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, or where we have to for legal reasons. If the reason is not serious, we will normally warn you first and give you a chance to put it right. If we ever discontinue Noshbook entirely, we will give you reasonable notice and a way to get your content out.

Liability

Nothing here limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law does not let us limit. If you are a consumer, you keep every right your local consumer law gives you, and nothing in these terms takes those away.

Beyond that, and to the extent the law allows: we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, for lost content, or for anything arising from a recipe you cooked, a person you met, or content another user posted. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the greater of what you have paid us in the past twelve months, or €50.

App stores

If you installed Noshbook from the App Store or Google Play, their terms apply to that download as well. This agreement is between you and us, not between you and Apple or Google: they are not responsible for Noshbook, for supporting it, or for any claim you might have about it. Apple and its subsidiaries may enforce this section as a third-party beneficiary.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of the Republic of Cyprus, and the courts of Cyprus have jurisdiction. If you are a consumer resident elsewhere in the EU, you keep the protection of your own country’s mandatory consumer law and may bring proceedings there.

Changes to these terms

If we change these terms we will update the date at the top, and for anything significant we will tell you in the app before it takes effect. Continuing to use Noshbook after that means you accept the change. If you would rather not, you can delete your account.
